In Orwell's 1984, O'Brien tells Winston, "We shall abolish the orgasm. Our neurologists are at work upon it now." What even Orwell couldn't have predicted in his eerily prescient masterpiece, are the astounding advances in technology that would take place between the time he wrote the novel and now. There's no need for clunky TVs to spy on us in our homes when that task can be easily accomplished by software on iPads and smart phones that we willingly take with us wherever we go.

And as far as abolishing orgasms? No need to get the doctors involved because there's an app for that too... at least there's one in the dystopian society in "The Deadline." Read it here.
